Youth
Our Goal
The goal of youth ministry at Grace is to help youth grow in their understanding, love, and knowledge of God. We seek to lead students in a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ, the church, and His work in Spartanburg and the world.
We recognize youth ministry is not a replacement for church or corporate worship, but is used as a secondary tool to learn how to apply the Scriptures in their lives to become faithful followers of the Gospel.
Discipleship Focused
We believe making disciples of the youth is primarily the responsibility of the parents. However, we also believe it is a collective effort of our congregation to disciple the youth, not just the parents of middle and high school students. God has graciously provided the local church with people to collaborate in the work the parents are already doing to equip, encourage, and walk alongside the youth as they grow.
Youth Ministry Lived Out
Our philosophy of ministry is taken from Jesus Christ as an example on how to disciple individuals. Watch me. Let us do it together. Let me watch you. Now, go and do.
The Lord has blessed us with youth ministry leaders who take this philosophy to heart. As the Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.“ We want our youth ministry leaders to be people searching after the heart of God so they can lead by example.
